OUR MISSION STATEMENT

We will never lose sight of the fact that the citizens of Richland County entrust their safety and well being to our care; to dispatch the police, sheriff, fire and ambulance services accurately, efficiently, and safely to protect their families, property and welfare at all times.

OUR HISTORY

Richland County implemented E-911 in 1990.

Richland County 9-1-1 communications is located in Wahpeton at the Richland County Law Enforcement Center and answers all emergency and non-emergency calls throughout Richland County.

Our department is made up of 8 dispatchers, all of which are certified in emergency medical dispatch. We dispatch for 4 law enforcement agencies, 16 fire departments, 5 ambulance squads and 8 first responder agencies.

We generally have two people working at all times when staffing allows. The communications center is staffed around the clock, 7 days a week, 365 a year. We also answer some 911 calls from Wilkin, Ransom and Sargent counties.
